But the problem is that on the boarding pass it states gate closes 1 hour before departure. I think the 40 mins refers to the boarding gate, not the gate to go through to security. The worry is that the system may deny now access to this latter gate even though there is ample time to get to the boring gate before the 40 mins is up. that means buying a new ticket.
