Friend is currently going HKG-DXB-DUB, but can change to HKG-DXB-LHR for £30. Might just do that then. Thanks all! Saves a night in £££ Dublin hotels too.

I'll push AA for compensation on the dropped DUB-LHR leg, but I'm not holding my breath!
