Will corroborate this assumption, I came off two UA codeshare flights in Nov AKL-IAH/LAX-AKL (IAH not a "partner route") but chose AirNZ flights on purpose, ticketed and marketed by UA, operated by NZ and credited to NZ. Received the same amount of APD and SP as if I had booked directly with NZ at probably 2x the cost..
