The free night would be a separate rez, one contiguous with the first rez, so it would effectively be a 4-night stay on 2 reservations. The cert won't extend to the 4th night, though the hotel might extend it as a courtesy (or for the reasons Matt gave above). If you want all 4 nights to include the CAA, you need to book them together. The property might be nice about it, but it's not policy.

A “stay” according to Hyatt is consecutive nights at the same property regardless of if it’s comprised of one or multiple reservations. As such you may only apply one certificate type per stay.

You can apply multiple of the same certificate type - FNA + FNA, SUA + SUA, CAA + CAA, but cannot mix certificate types on a single “stay”.
