I don't see any problem with that and I don't understand what policy you'd be violating by doing that.
The free night would be a separate rez, one contiguous with the first rez, so it would effectively be a 4-night stay on 2 reservations. The cert won't extend to the 4th night, though the hotel might extend it as a courtesy (or for the reasons Matt gave above). If you want all 4 nights to include the CAA, you need to book them together. The property might be nice about it, but it's not policy.
