I could stay at those Hilton or Hyatt but we don’t really eat hotel food and tend to look for local places to eat. But that’s a good idea to just stay in Hilton or Hyatt.
Doesn't have to be that Hilton or that Hyatt, of course. They are so close to each other that they would be good for a split stay. They are both on top of Tochomae subway station with Hilton closer to another station. Hilton has a shuttle to Shinjuku station.
I don't really eat hotel food either because they are over-priced. My exceptions are when breakfast is free due to status or club access (Hilton, Hyatt). I did have a $100 dinner at the Hilton but an f&b credit and discount knocked that down to about $27 which was an actual reasonable price for what I got.
I assume you would be out and about for lunch and dinner. There are some restaurants near those hotels. I have gotten into the practice of just taking a taxi to Kabukicho which is about $15 round trip. That is the price I paid for staying in Nishi-Shinjuku for free.
After all, using the certificates/points/rebates means saving the $200/night hotel budget.
