Thinking about it just now, I can't remember ever having a go around. I've had two bird strikes on take off. One in a MD80 and one in a E190.. The MD80 was interesting because they are so wildly variable on how noisey they are inside, and this one was quite noisey to begin with, so when the engine let go it was Rather Audible in the cabin. The engine disintergrating also made me realise *exactly* why I never wanted to be sat next to one aever gain: if there was ever an uncontained event....
Fascinating watching Americans omboard react. They really do scream and pray. Bizarre.
