Absolutely thoughts. That seat is blocked for the convenience of business class passengers seated right next to the seat, so 1B should serve as additional space for 1A and 1C, not for 1D and 1F. If other passengers exceed their baggage allowance, that should not become your problem. Especially as ulti, where you would in this case have even had a better experience seated in economy with a (full) courtesy seat blocked.

Were you in a fully paid or upgraded seat? I think staff are able to see if you've been upgraded, so I can imagine that in case you've been upgraded it's easier for them to ask you for a favor.
