I have been in a number of the PP lounges DL uses for contracted D1 access and they are forgettable at best. Crowded, noisy, dirty, and the food looks and smells unappetizing. Certainly not worth arriving any earlier than you need to, I often skip them and go right to the gate if that's possible, and eat on board.
