Don't ever trust "WEAN" listings. They are generated by BA ops and often conceal other reasons behind cancellations, like crew shortages. Sometimes BA cancels flights because they were underbooked and therefore unprofitable. These are often listed as "WEAN." Before accepting this excuse it's a good idea to check the METARS for both airports. You will usually find the weather conditions were nowhere near operating minima. The arbitration service CEDR frequently rejects BA's "WEAN" excuses and orders them to pay compensation. More usually they cave when the the appeal goes in.
