if you are sure you’ll take the trip, in your shoes I’d set a number of Google Flights alerts, which will notify me of a price drop. If the price drops to a very good price - due to a fare war or something - book immediately and remember you have a free cancellation within 24h if booking from the United States. Book, then decide.
Thanks. Will do that when google flight alerts open (still too early). FWIW, how big an international travel holiday is thanksgiving? My vague recollection from a decade ago is the flights leaving the us were empty ish.
