I think you slip out of the transit category as your connection drifts past 24H. It raises questions about how QR handles any checked bags. Otherwise, without bags or with the baggage question resolved, I don't think you'll be hunted down and removed.


The alternative to remaining airside is to take advantage of (relatively) low hotel rates for very comfortable hotels in the city. It really doesn't entail much fuss: immigration for QR's premium passengers is a streamlined affair, taxis are plentiful and the ride to the city's hotels rarely exceeds 20 minutes.

Though if you have no interest in getting even the most fleeting sense of Doha (and of course there's no reason why you should) and you're happy to pay handsomely for convenience, then the airside transit hotel is the perfect solution.
