Was on NZ453 AKL-WLG yesterday (having barely made my connection in AKL thanks to chaos at biosecurity in AKL, but that's another story). It was a beautiful looking evening over the Kapiti Coast and looking across to the sounds as we descended to the west of WLG, looped around to the south and came in for a northerly landing. All seemed fine and not very bumpy or unstable (certainly not by WLG standards) but we had no sooner touched down than full power was applied and we fairly rocketed back into the sky for a go around.
I've had my share of go-arounds in my (ahem) many years of flying, but I'm fairly sure that it's a first for me to actually touch down and then go around. Landing had seemed fine to me - maybe seemed a tad fast (but so did the second time) - so I loved it. Of course not everyone likes that kind of thing, and an FA was on the PA immediately reassuring passengers that all was fine and the pilots would be busy and would give us an update when they were ready, so that was well handled. Pilot in due course said there was a bit too much air movement and instability on landing. Managed an uneventful landing on second attempt.

Thought I'd share in case anyone was interested. As for me, one thing to tick off the bucket list...
