I have just booked a new ticket 11 months out with my expiring "Unused eTicket". Most people here write about canceling 48+ hours later to get a new date-extended credit ... but is there any reason I should NOT just leave that value stored in a main cabin ticket and then spend it when I want to buy something I'm actually going to fly (or extend it again)? Is there some benefit to converting it back into a credit?
