Background: I am about $480 short of the next 20PP spend tier after 1K and while I am confident I will spend that next year (and so TB is a safe bet), I would only do so if the PQPs post now.
My rationale is that it would take a full 3,000 PQPs to earn the extra 20 PP next year - I.e., after again reaching the (soon to be elevated) 1K spend.
Am I on the right track or missing something?

Buying TB doesn't earn you PQP (except maybe outside of whatever your credit card gives you on spend).
PQP earned based on TB spent is the same as cash spent - it posts after you completed your flight.
