LOT offers free bag for *G on all fares, including saver fares. I use the benefit all the time, never had a problem (it's reflected automatically in the check-in system, you can see it during OLCI, and check your bag via self service kiosks where available - there's no need for agent's input).

It's also clearly listed on LOT's website: https://www.lot.com/by/en/journey/baggage/short-haul-baggage (scroll down and open "extra baggage for Miles & More members" where it lists 23 kg baggage for SEN, HON and *G on Saver fare)

This is not correct. Were you asked to pay for the first bag despite being *G? Both my personal experience, the LOT website, the Miles and More website and Star Alliance website suggest this should not be the case.
