Can you say more about this - which HND terminal would you expect the AA flight to land, and which terminal would the domestic JAL flight depart from? Domestic transfer counter is before or after immigration? I assume I need to clear immigration and customs in order to pick up and recheck the checked bag.



To be sure, this would be 2 bags in this case?

Hi,

AA will arrive at T3
Pass imigration ( probably useful to fill out the visit Japan web customs and immigration form and generate a QR code before arrival)
complete the electronic customs declaration at the kiosk by baggage reclaim ( using your passport and qr code)
collect bags
pass through customs ( if using the QR code it is virtually walking through gates)
You are now landside
The Jal domestic transfer desk is about 80m to the right

JAL domestic leaves from T1
