We had a very good stay here in November with 3 kids. It was our second time overall at this hotel and first since it became a Grand Hyatt. One thing that impressed me was proactive outreach from the hotel before, during, and after the stay. We encountered a couple of problems and service recovery was impressive. My kids absolutely loved the pools and the water was warm. There is also a new game lawn just outside the pool area with foosball, ping pong, connect four, jenga, and chess. We didn't dine at the hotel, but I noticed that the pool drink prices were reasonable. A highlight is that they have fire pits with actual wood fires for making s'mores.
As an Explorist, I was upgraded to a golf view room. The redesigned rooms look nice, but there were some drawbacks in functionality. There is not a proper chair in the room - rather, there is a bench and then a sort of chair/stool with one curved wooden bar to support the low back. I was there on vacation, but thought it would be difficult to get work done due to the chair situation. The balcony chairs also weren't the greatest. The sofabed was an odd one - it was hard to pull out/put back and hard as a sleeping surface. The redesign also left the cheap hollow bathroom doors mentioned upthread in #405.
The hotel did a really nice job with activities for kids over the Thanksgiving week. There was a magic show, crafts, karaoke, a movie marathon, and more.
