Looking at this - https://www.aerlingus.com/book/plan/...-within-europe - shows the fee charged for cash refunds on all of them. The fee is also charged when getting taxes back only on the fares not eligible for full refunds.

Thanks - looks fairly unavoidable then. I know the likes of BA would only apply an administration fee if you choose to cancel over the phone rather than online.

Begrudge not only losing on the cash fare + baggage that i’ve paid, but then paying a £12pp “Admin Fee” on top 🙄.
