IAD Airport experience
Arrived at IAD airport and queued Premium line to check our suitcase. The check in lady printed our boarding passes.
........ she did not put Priority tags on the suitcases (ours or the people in front of us).
Pleased to hear the TAP trip went (more or less) well.
Some airports no longer attach the prominent priority flyer to the luggage tag. These rely on attracting the attention of baggage handlers to direct the bag to the appropriate container: just occasionally the handler missed that visual cue.....
The new system relies on attaching a bar-coded a strip to the bag. The code is recognised by the system, rather than by a fallible human, and it gets shunted into the line for the correct container. Things can still go wrong - but probably less frequently than before.
Maybe TP at IAD has adopted this procedure.
