while still the norm for TAs not to be able to issue residual credit, seems flights booked via C1 but changed on the UA site directly will issue full and/or residual credit, just like a UA-issued ticket. Most (or at least many) TA tickets can’t be changed/canceled via UA, at least not with UA having to ‘take over’ the ticket, but my personal experience, and many others on here, is tickets booked via C1 can be canceled on UA site directly same way I do when booked through UA. So don’t cancel on C1, do so on UA site. Occasional reports on issues do exist, but seems to me that those issues are the same kind of issues that can happen with a UA-booked ticket - where some sort of bug prevents them from being used online etc. these are few and far between, and personally, has never happened to me.
