You can call now and ask for an early reset. The new membership year will still end on 31DEC2025 as membership year will always end at the end of the month. That way, you will not have to bother with not including your membership number on your Dec. flights, assuming you have some, and you can retro-claim once the reset has been done. I just called to request, although the agent said it would take a week for the reset to be done.

Edited to add: Just called Cathay to request the early reset. They said the reset would be effect from tomorrow. Let's see if this actually happens so quickly.
FYI, it has been a week since I requested, and my membership year is not yet reset. I called again, and the agent said they have a high number of cases these days. Guess the problem with COVID-19 extensions means there is a huge batch of memberships expiring in Dec.
I am GO. Wondering if it is faster for DM.
