Has anyone booked FN for others by way of adding additional guest when making the reservation online?

I have used point booking in this manner, i.e. pull points from spousal account but I was the only one stayed as additional guest. Did have to pay 2 guests city taxes (in Nice, France) but at check in not an issue. In fact in many occasions at check in, when I mentioned the booking was under my husband's name, he was parking the car etc, the FD often took a look of the reservation then said since your name was also on the reservation, you can check in.

Not sure if this can also be done with FN booking. Though my impression is, hotels seem only see FN bookings as point bookings because that is how FD call them.
