So now I'm getting conflicting reports. LATAM via chat indicated that it's fine for an infant to travel in business class on the lap of a parent and others on this thread have indicated that this seems to be the case no problem. However, you indicated that this is not the case. Is this based on recent travel experiences or further back? The reason I ask is that it's my understanding that LATAM may have changed their policies, particularly on newer aircraft like the 787 that operates the routes between Australia and Santiago.
I double-checked with SS and I was mistaken. I was told babies are allowed to fly in any cabin as long as they are on their parents’ lap. They'll be charged 10% of the ticket. And the obvious reason is that babies cry, and people who fly business don’t want to be disturbed and need to rest.
Sorry about the misinformation.
