As always with the cost vs comfort question, it’s how much of a premium you want to / can afford to place on more comfort.

For me, who’s 6’3” and 15 stone (95 kg), premium economy is the difference between looking forward to a journey and not looking forward to a journey, so for me the difference has quite a high value.

Clearly I like to travel in Business and First Class, but the break point for me for a TATL journey would be the better space and comfort of premium economy. My last PE flight was to Seattle and it felt like it went in the blink of an eye.

However I suspect that there may be some beneficial fluctuations in price between now and September 2025. If I were you, I would keep looking on Google flight for the next month or two and take a decision then based on the pricing you’re seeing then.
