Oh I didnt realize that. But isnt the whole point of the check in area that anyone who goes through it has access to the D1 lounge? Now the Sky Club is closed at the back door and it seems like they dont have the person at the elevator how they did on Oct 11 who was calling up to the D1 folks to let them know someone was coming up to go in. I thought if you're in the check in you're in the lounge.
Not sure which level you are referring to, but when I was there last week, they had someone at the gate level entrance by the elevator who checked credentials and called up to the D1 lounge letting them know you were on your way up. The same for the check-in and security area on the first level.

Not locked but just closed. I didn’t realize there were some ppl who can use the check in but not the lounge. The last time I was there no one was calling up and no one checked my BP so I assumed all check in folks were lounge eligible.
That hallway and door is how D1 pax get to the showers in the SC from the D1 lounge. They escort you from the D1 lounge down the hallway, through the door and SC and to the showers and have one ready and waiting for you. To get back, you just retrace your steps. The staff at the door of the D1 lounge seem pretty switched on at knowing who belongs...once you've been in and out they remember you.
