Just pointing out, as I always do in these scenarios, that some people (including me!) prefer the lower floor 57th street view rooms. You don't have a view of anything in particular on higher floors, and I personally like feeling part of the hustle and bustle of the city/people watching while still enjoying the room's soundproofing (which is mostly good). We enjoy watching people milling around Carnegie Hall, and on Half Marathon days you can see the runners go past the hotel.
I feel the same way about the avenue view and park view rooms at the Ritz CP; much prefer the lower floors.
Sure, definitely a matter of personal preference.
To flesh out why I personally would avoid low floors . . . our 57th Street facing room on the 10th floor was very loud. It didn't help that there was construction all night on 57th. The room was also really dark due to the surrounding buildings.
