There are a couple of cards in Canada that offer bonus points on foreign spend as an alternative to waiving the foreign transaction currency markup. Wonder if that might be the case here. If not, I assume there will have to be a cap on the spending as it would otherwise be pretty open to abuse (at least by me...).
