An update after my recent stay at the Raffles Europejski Warsaw. Unfortunately, the hotel has gone downhill while the price level is higher than ever.
I booked an executive suite and got just that despite higher category suites were available on arrival. The executive suite is an entry level suite that used to be a junior suite before.
I was explained that they don’t give upgrades any longer for those who book a suite. They rather keep them empty. So if you want a suite upgrade you need to book a lot cheaper Raffles room.
This was the first time I experienced this. I have been there four times: twice in 2019, once in 2022 and now. I don't think it makes any sense to reward only those who spend less.
I raised this nonsense policy with the front desk manager who claimed the policy has always been the same and reluctantly upgraded my suite later. It really did made me feel my loyalty was very much appreciated.

One would think they could do better when charging 1,400 euros for two nights.
Cost cutting was clearly visible. There was only one receptionist working in the morning and evening which caused queues. On previous stays, a butler has taken me to my suite. This wasn’t the case this time and it must be due to a lack of staff.
Since no one explained the suite features it wasn’t until check-out that I learned that soft drinks from the minibar would still have been complimentary. There was a price list in the suite suggesting else. Also, no more sweet treats were offered upon check-in.
The suite was still lovely and I received a bottle champagne. I think it was part of the service recovery rather than welcome gift. No welcome letter, personalized or general, was provided.
