Again, all mandatory fees do is to purposely set the advertised room rate of a hotel or resort property at an artificially low level which is designed in order to deceive the customer into choosing to stay there versus a different lodging option; and then “recoup” more income later. They are of no advantage or benefit — and in most cases, of any practical use whatsoever — to the guest or customer.
The first price I see includes the fee, the "they're just trying to sucker you in with a lower rate" argument is total bunk. What is the deception here? The soap is included in that price and is mandatory, btw.
