To clarify, you’re talking about not being able to pre-order in the app on the second flight of a two-flight connecting itinerary? If so, just go to the second flight and click “Show Passenger” and “View”. There should then be a meal selection option there if your flight is a meal flight and you’re within the pre-order window.
Yeah, I tried that before, and nothing was there to select a meal, and I tried this the day I booked and the following day. Both of which were more than 24 hours and less than the 1 week, as I was able to pre-order the breakfast pizza for my first flight. So that didn't work, and I know the Pre-orders were in effect as the guy sitting next to me got the Shake Shake Burger.
