Delta First Class Meal Selections on 2nd Flight, when you don't get an email
I have had this problem mostly when I book a flight within a week of departure, or I get upgraded 3 or 5 days out the most, but also when I don't get an email from Delta for whatever reason to preselect my meal.
So the scenario this time is I booked my flight 5 days before flying, in "F" from MSP to LAX, then LAX on to PVR. Since i booked this 5 days from departure I didn't get an email to select my meal. So I go to the Delta App to select my meals. Flight from MSP to LAX is good, make my selections, but no option for the 2nd flight. So I hit save my selections. I can't select my meal in advance. In the past year I think I have this issue 7 or 8 times. Normally, I when this has happened, I haven't really been all that concerned as the food really isn't very good regardless of what you select. Well my 2nd flight if I could have pre-ordered my meal, I could have selected the New Shake Shack Burger option, which looks much better than everything else they offered. I called the Delta Diamond Line before flying as well, and they couldn't make a meal selection, only put in notes, which is too late for a the limited menu pre-order options.
Does anyone have a solution to get around this problem with Delta's IT / APP issues? As Delta doesn't seem to care enough to try and fix it.
I couldn't find anything posted here about this issue, but I saw some people posting and complaining on Reddit about it, but no solutions there.
Any advise would be greatly appreciated.
