EWR-MSP, Lunch on a 712
I was feeling adventurous so I pre-ordered the "Margherita pizza" which seems to come out differently at every station.
Honestly, I feel compelled to give it a positive review. If you're expecting
good pizza on a plane, I think you're out of your mind (unless they can haul a pizza oven in the air and cook from scratch) but this honestly wasn't half bad. You could tell that it started with high-quality ingredients and really wanted to be a high-quality pizza, but it had been tortured by the requirements of the catering process and bore the scars of that (reheated, glumped together to resemble the shape of a Chicago deep-dish pizza despite the crust being in a Neapolitan style).
I still wouldn't rate it a first choice, but as a preorder special I appreciate it as an option to break up the monotony of other dishes.
