Adding:
UA940 Dec 7 (N652UA) flight to nowhere - EWR to EWR.
Flew 2 hours en route to LHR and returned back to origin, arrived back to EWR in the middle of the night.
Same aircraft took off again after taking a 9 hr+ "delay" from original scheduled time, now as a day time flight. Rough night for those having spent the night at EWR.
