I always used the valet parking since I am
a 3.5 hour drive from the hotel and had a car I wasn’t renting. I don’t know for sure but don’t think other options are viable or recommended. It is a 5 minute walk just to get to the street if you want to go across to the Bal Harbour shops. I am not sure you need a rental but that depends on what you want to do - you can always take a taxi to south beach or other nearby places if you like. This is a nice property and our purpose of staying there was to experience it - the beach, the food, etc. This not to mention parking in south beach is a pain.
