Agreed that the St. Regis has really shifted in recent years, and not for the better. Interesting to hear that from the front-desk manager. I've also heard they rarely upgrade to suites anymore, partly for revenue reasons and partly because they've had issues with people getting upgraded, then coming back and not getting one, and escalating it/causing issues. All very unfortunate since the suite upgrades here used to be amazing! At least the breakfast is still good.
