I’ve been wanting to stay at one of the two new Doubletrees in Jakarta since they opened this year. I already had about 7 weeks booked at my very favorite Doubletree in Cikini, but after seeing that the Bintaro location was attached to a huge mall, I thought I’d give it a try. I’m in a wheelchair, so it’s rare for me in Indonesia to be able to go to a large mall without a big hassle.
It’s a bit hectic trying to locate the right entrance for the hotel. We first went by the sign that said lobby, but that was the mall lobby and not the hotel.
Before arrival they contacted us asking about arrival time, and apologizing for no suite upgrades. It seems they only have 5 suites in 184 or so rooms. We arrived on Friday, so things were pretty busy. We got a corner room on the 15th floor. Nicely appointed, very comfortable bed and pillows. The bedroom is carpeted. They brought a nice fruit plate as a welcome amenity. My daughter was looking at it and noticed the pear had condensation on it. Strange. Upon touching it, it was actually a cleverly disguised cake, with fruit filling!
Fruit amenity
Not a pear
I’ll report more, as time allows.
