If you don't want to fly with a nickel and dime point to point low cost carrier then you can consider the likes of Malaysian or Thai but it will require a further transit in KUL or BKK. If it's with Thai then SQ might interline your bags for you.
If the convenience of the direct flight is important then there are options to upsize your hand luggage allowance from 7kg to 14kg with AirAsia's XTRA hand luggage and FAST PASS products but you will pay for it. Make sure you book direct to see all the detail of these options. But whatever you do with AirAsia or other low cost carriers in Asia do not assume you will get away with an extra kilo or inch here or there, you probably won't.
