LAX is the most convenient and I also have miles, happy to reposition. No constraints on travel days (weekends are preferred but can work with any day for better value) and also happy to do redeyes.

If you have not made any progress organically it's worth considering whether to ask AS to cancel your status challenge and try again when you have typical travel scheduled. Maybe they will be willing. Putting costs aside, doing the 20k status challenge 100% via mileage running is a real drag considering AS's footprint and the requirement to use AS metal.
