I have never flown Aeroflot, but I have flown other Russian airlines, and had good experiences with them. Service on these Russian airlines was better than the equivalent on BA, AA, etc (short- and medium-haul flying)

Remember that you will need a transit visa, and I suggest you don't delay too long on it. The visa can be a major pain in the butt.
