also not sure whats the MCT but i recommend 4h minimum between or after long haul flight(s) in MEX
And others need to confirm if its still the case , even though it doesnt apply to you , but i think if someone does the same trip like you with a checked luggage , she/he will need to collect luggage in MEX to drop them on a special carroussel in T1 , even if luggage has been tagged to final destination
On the AF flight it was announced that that passengers with onwards connections don't need to pick-up their check-in luggage anymore. It would automatically be transferred to their connecting flight. The COBUS option again proved illusive. Whoever I asked, they just directed me to immigration and baggage claim.
The MCT turned out to be 2h45m and my connection 2h40m. I got in touch with the OTA and they made a freaking mess. In the end I asked them to just leave things as they were. Since I travel with just cabin luggage, I had no problems getting through immigration and customs, getting on the Aerotrén, through emigration and security and into the ridiculously crowded AM lounge where I was told "We don't serve alcoholic drinks today."
I had a wonderful time in an apartment just around the corner from Porto da Barra beach, Salvador da Bahia, Brazil. It was like a city trip and beach vacation combined. In the meantime, I earned enough XP to get a reduction of 3 of 10 years to FB PfL as part of the new FB XP-surplus rules transition period, that kicked in for me on 01-11-2024, right at the end of my lovely trip/XP-run. With my planned and booked travel up till 09-2025 I will secure FB PfL, if there are no more changes.
