I'm pretty much losing a day of my business trip because of this.
Your chance of KLM paying the claim straight up is several notches below zero.

You will need to go through ADR and small claims and the same rigmarole I'm doing now if you ever hope to see any of it.

Should you still do it? Yes. P*ssed off with KLM systematically invoking everyday weather occurences as exceptional. This will only stop when they get a hefty fine.

Do double check the weather data yourself in case the winds were REALLY exceptional that day. It's rarely the case but could be.
