I did a trip recently, UA on the way out and OS on the way back. Seats are very similar. The service on Austrian is significantly better, I remember going up to use the toilet and when I returned they left me a new glass of wine and a piece of chocolate. UA has OS beat on entertainment. Not as many good english stuff in the entertainment.
My wife and I did a similar trip in September…I was going to write up a little comparison on UA vs OS premium economy but I never got around to it. I agree with the comments quoted here and others who have said the OS food is substantially better too (my wife labeled the UA main course on the outbound “inedible”, my choice was slightly better). That said, two small dings against OS at least judging from our flight to IAD: 1) no shin rest, and 2) no in-flight WiFi.
