The JF Beef Stew was excellent, but the other dish was not as advertised resulting in shortage. Fortunately the cabin was not full, leaving only Row 4 disappointed.
Second meal was a scoop of chicken salad on a dinner roll (small) and was the same for both cabins.
Service was pleasant, although the experience leaned much more to Economy than Premium with specific service times for the whole plane and no mid-flight snacks or drink refills (other than water). Since this flight cash prices the same as other TATL with real PY, and often as much as J using Aeroplan, I'm not sure it's a good value unless you like the daytime crossing - which I do.
I really don’t understand why AC tries to be premium “Economy” vs. “Premium” economy. Other than the bigger seat and the first meal, the rest of the experience is mediocre. There is a recent YouTube video comparing the US3 PY to each other on NYC-LHR. They all serve a second PY meal (day or overnight flight) vs. the crappy Y second meal that AC throws at you. Even Air Transat has a real second meal in their Club Class which is essentially PY.
