GAs are not very good at managing bags at the gate in general. There is a lot of interindividual variations and their explanations to travellers are often pretty lousy with the “but it fitted in the other plane“ crowd. It will be easier for them with group 6 (or group 7 or group B or group basic b*tch if you prefer). Full flights on narrow body have baggage delays pretty often, so hopefully, it will help.

But people in groups 1 through 5 will still exaggerate with bag size and number of carry ons. Even employees push the limits of bag size sometimes.
