Didn’t realize it until I already made the change and noticed the outbound was in a lower fare class than what I originally booked.
They hadn't fixed it as of June this year. I changed the outbound of my reservation and it refared the return.
I only use the change flights tool if I want to change the entirety of the ticket. Otherwise I call, which is slow, but at least it doesn't do anything that surprises me.
