This is the real issue. The spend rewards for the DL Reserve AmEx just inherently aren't all that great compared to the rewards on other types of cards. So, IMHO there's only a small market segment who would churn spend on the Reserve just to earn the MQD Boost, as a means to achieve status.
in spirit, I agree with you. However, I know a lot of people who have the Delta AMEX card and charge tons of money to it without any strategy because they are simply unaware that one sky mile is worth much less than a chase or AMEX point.
