I don't know if it's been discussed elsewhere, but AA just sent me an email message that confirmed that they will
(for US credit cards!), again, count all the LPs from credit card transactions made up to Feb 28, 2025 towards the current status year, no matter what the statement closing date is. From the email:
Loyalty Points earned from transactions made with your AAdvantage® credit card from March 1, 2024 ‐ February 28, 2025, count toward the current status qualification year — and help you enjoy benefits in the next year.
Loyalty Points earned on transactions from your March statement will post later than other months to ensure they're applied to the correct qualification year. Learn more → https://www.aa.com/web/i18n/aadvanta...statement.html
From that webpage:
We will post Loyalty Points and miles earned on your March credit card statement to your AAdvantage® account separately to ensure the Loyalty Points applied to the correct AAdvantage® status qualification year.
For example:
If your credit card statement closes on March 5, 2025:
All the Loyalty Points earned from transactions made between February 6 – 28, 2025, count toward your 2025 status. The Loyalty Points earned from transactions made between March 1 – 5, 2025, count toward your 2026 status.Loyalty Points may take up to 10 weeks to post after your March credit card statement closes.
As Loyalty Points are posted, we’ll update your AAdvantage® status if you qualify.
