If you are required to lock in your dates we'll in advance, you could book EOS which is what I also do.
Ahh.. that was my assumption but wanted to ask how others were doing it. One time I did have AC tickets as a backup when J tickets opened up, ANA outbound, UA inbound in Room and Polaris respectively which I took, but dumb me did not have fully refundable AC tickets so I ate the refund fee since getting the refund less any fees was more than the tax/fuel costs of the J flight. I just took it as an expensive lesson. I was looking into ZipAir as alternatives since it's in my price range for a lie flat international, but they're not refundable at all.
What is EOS? googling only seems to bring up a defunct airline lol.
