Somebody in the LAC read that and we got the allegris ASR scheme in May 2024
Completely agree, BA/IAG makes a lot of cash through seat charges.

However think there are some big differences:
- Gold/GGL/Prem/Emerald get free seat choice in all cabins
- Silver/Sapphire more limited free choices
- Club Suite is a much more homogeneous cabin - it's basically just window or centre
- No charges in First at all

Allegris is different because it was designed to have crap and less crap seats specifically so they could monetise it.

I get that a family might pay up to $200/€200 per person on a long haul flight once or twice a year to sit together, but you can't really even do that with Allegris. For a regular business traveller, I think it's just going to piss them off.
